Services / TiNiT Mining Planning Database

What is it?
The TiNiT Mining Planning Database (TMPD) was developed for a Newmont mine in West Africa from which it has been deployed elsewhere.

It is a cost effective solution for mines needing to report on day to day activities and plan future strategies in a consistent and accurate way.

The simplicity of data entry belies the fact that there is complex functionality and extensive number crunching going on to create daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports & graphs.

Ideally implemented early in a mine’s life TMPD is easy to use and easy to install but flexible enough for your Mining Planning Engineers to extract the information they need to work with. And when it comes to supporting your project we’re here to help.

Not only can we assist you at the development, installation and training phases of the project but we’re always keen to help via Skype or Email as well as our online knowledge base and support website.

So, if you’re keen to avoid spending large amounts of money on a mining planning database don’t even think of creating Excel spreadsheets or a bespoke database to do a job we’ve already done.

Features and Benefits of the Mining Planning Database
Quick and easy data entry screens for pit control with date and shift parameters. The screens are designed to capture as much information as possible about each activity whilst causing the operator as little work as possible (and minimise the risk of user error).

  • Digging – As well as the operating centre and digger, each load is attributed to a truck and TMPD tracks where the loads are dumped. Data entered can be easily checked with information from Geology via our cross checking queries.
  • Blast Hole Drilling – Including drill rig, hole counts and pattern numbers.
  • Reverse Cut Drilling
  • Mining Equipment (in addition to the above) - scheduled hours, engine hours, scheduled downtime times & reasons, unscheduled downtime times & reasons, standby times, standby reasons, operating centre.
  • Ore Tally – to be entered by Geology. The data is used to cross check that entered by pit control. Includes truck loads, ore block information and stockpile.
  • Fuel use for all plant

Manage lookup tables for every lookup table in the system including:

  • Material Types
  • Material Class
  • Plant Models - including:
    • Truck factors - which is especially useful when you use different sized trucks
    • Availability - expectations based on machine hours
    • Operator Efficiency - expectations based on overall operator experience
    • Scheduled Hours – used to produce graphs and reports for availability and utilization
  • Monthly Budgets - which can be broken down into Material Type and Class
  • Explosives – for inventory
  • Operating Centres – for separating production from other types of work
  • Servicing and downtime reasons

Enter and extract data for:

  • Ore Blocks
  • Blasts
  • Patterns

Daily Reports
The reports below can be individually selected/deselected to print off continuously i.e. much less paper is used when amalgamating the reports as opposed to printing off individually.

  • Daily Materials – Budget and actual figures broken down into Material Type and Material Class. Columns include Grade, BCM, Tonnes and Variance
  • MTD Materials – As above but for the month to date
  • YTD Materials – As above but for the year to date.
  • Rehandling/Other Mining
  • Maintenance for date period
  • Maintenance MTD
  • Standby reasons
  • Digger Productivity
  • Drill & Blast for date period
  • Drill & Blast MTD

Daily Plant Reports
Detailing downtime and standby for each item of plant which is available for the selected date period.

Graphs

  • Production Totals - for the date period selected
  • YTD Production Totals - displays data on a month by month basis
  • Utilization – comparing ‘budget’ with ‘actual’ for the date period and plant type selected
  • Availability – comparing budget with actual for the date period and plant type selected

Data Checking Queries

  • Maintenance – Hours are totalled to identify and help fix inconsistencies in data entry.
  • Loads Query – Figures entered by Geology are compared with those entered by Pit Control.
