David's role at Denaploy
You don't need to be a geek to tell how well a piece of software is written. Good software should be intuitive to users, and give a responsive and stable feel about itself. It's no good giving lengthy instruction manuals or leave users guessing on how to use it.

Producing something to these requirements requires a strong flexible team, and it's David's role to make sure that everyone can develop using the latest technologies, and work to the agile software development methodology. Proper planning throughout all stages ensures projects are developed to tight timescales, are to the customers’ requirements, remain error free, and keeps the amount of aftercare and future development costs to a minimum.

About
After joining Denaploy straight from university, David has since racked up 10 years of experience in commercial software development. He became the lead developer for the company after his first year producing the Newsstand project.

Outside of work, he has furthered his studies to include Open University modules in alternative energy. It is of great interest to him to aid people in progressing to live a more sustainable life, with practical solutions. He also keeps up to date with how the country can gain energy security, for example the department of transports targets of producing a charging infrastructure to support 100k+ electric vehicles by 2020, kickstarting the solar industry, building gas mills to supply gas into the gas network created from bio-waste, or many other alternative energies that are abundant to us.

Prior to Denaploy
David studied BSc Computing at Plymouth University in 1999, having already an electronics and assembly language programming skills.

David's Qualification

'Alternative Energies for the Future' modules at the Open University
